About Renee

I took up golf in 1989 and within 6 months of playing, I had my first taste of success. This was all the motivation I needed to continue improving my golf.  Success through golf has allowed me to travel both nationally and internationally.

I represented New Zealand as an amateur for 7 consecutive years before turning professional.  I played on tour for two years before injury  bought touring to a halt.  My hiatus from being a touring player enabled me to explore another aspect of golf – teaching.   I have worked and studied in many places around New Zealand and over the last 6 years I have refined my teaching skills and had the opportunity to gain international teaching qualifications. I am blessed to have worked closely with Mal Tongue from whom I have learnt a lot of my teaching skills.

I have a wide variety of coaching related interests and skill.   I run both occasional workshops which range from complete beginners through to advanced skills based instruction, I also conduct one to one customised lessons for individuals.  My specialties include running golf clinics and workshops for women golfers and I do occasional work with Vicki Aitken in the delivery of golf psychology seminars and courses.

I enjoy working with junior golfers, especially those who face unique challenges which require me to “think outside the square” in my coaching strategy.  To view a news story about one of these young golfers please visit this link.

Off the golf course (and when time allows!) I enjoy a range of interest and activities, particularly music, travel, art & crafts, theatre/movies, international cuisine, mountain biking and spending time with family and friends.
